Identity Crisis?
Hmm..i dunno why but the more i think about it..the more the truth surfaces. I mean like, my IC shows im Arab yet i failed miserably my arab in madrasah last time. To be an Arab or any other race even, u must fit the characteristics..lets check
- I speak Arab? : Err no. Thanks to my wonderful datuk who could not bother to teach the 9 children arab. At the very least teach them Basic Conversational Arab can. I seriously dun get it. Masuk raffles then luper nak ajar Arab pe.
- Do i look like an Arab? : No! I look so damn melayu can. Not that i hate it. but seriously ah..some of my relatives look so Arab can. Why mine like so different.
It will be so cool if i knew some long distant relative in Hadhramaut, Yemen. Oh yeah. I wonder also why my family name is Bahajjajj and not Bahajjaj.
See the diff? U go type the first one at Facebook and most likely only me, my sis and my bro oni surfaces and if you type the latter, the results would be more. Oh i know! must have Qalqallah! (haha.)

To summarise it all, saw at wiki,
Identity crisis
The Hadhrami community in Singapore is now facing an identity crisis. The younger generation does not speak Arabic and has lost its affiliation with Hadhramaut, partly because Hadhramis have stopped sending their children back there. The Arab community recognises the lack of knowledge of Arabic is a major problem and an Arabic language centre has been set up. It is hoped that the younger generation will learn both the language and about their culture and heritage. The challenge facing the community is to ensure that the new generation maintains its identity. The link with Hadhramaut needs to be re-established and travel to Hadhramaut needs to be encouraged.
